This past Saturday, the 20th of October 2012,TopAfric's 2nd Anual African Youth Education Award took place at the Albert-Schäfer-Saal building in Hamburg Germany.
The aim of the event was to encourage the educational and professional achievements of young African youths in Germany. The event educates and informs students of African origin on the importance and significance of education for their social and professional integration in Germany.
In a nutshell the project motivates African kids in Germany to study and brings them into contact with role models in the society.Opening ceremony was done by Dr. Jens Peter Breitengroß, Honorary consulate of Kenya & vice president of Chambers of Commerce Hamburg in Hamburg and Dr. de Lorent Ministry of Education Hamburg. Speeches were made by Jürgen Klimke, (CDU) Member of Parliament Berlin, Dr. Benjamin Armah, Entrepreneur from Ghana, Elombo Bolayela (SPD) member of parliament from Berlin, Lawyer Iyare Allen Imasi, Dr. Ramani Enusa, Maxim and Samuel Marfo of Topafric Radio. Tash graced the occassion with her soulful song and youths from the Kingdom United music group aslo sang.
