A Call on Muslims in Hamburg to Unite

Afro News

Thousands of Muslims all over Hamburg the second largest city in Germany after Berlin celebrated Eid Al-Fitr on Sunday, the 19th of August 2012, by attending prayers at mosques and open grounds and organizing various programs.

All the mosques mostly in the city center were filled to capacity with men, women and children.

The messages in the all the mosques were centered on Peace and Love and Unity. Mallam Abdallah led the prayers in the Ansar Mosque and Mallam Bature was in charge at the Rama Mosque.

Prominent Imam’s also led prayers in the Sabeku,Tawba and Al-Nazir Falah mosques. The renowned Imams of the five leading Africa mosques in Hamburg emphasized the role of Eid in strengthening relationship between Muslims & non Muslims.

Remember the word love has been mentioned in the Holy Qur’an more than 80 times, thus indicating the significance of love. You should be symbol of love, adapt to your environs and be seen as servants of the almighty Allah.

They also asked their followers to be law abiding to avoid irrelevant confrontations with state apparatus.

The Islamic faith teaches Muslims to love their parents, wives and children, friends and the entire humanity; they stressed the need to love Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) who has set a good example for Muslims in all walks of life. "The lack of love is something frightening as it would transform a man into an animal.

In their Eid sermons, the Africa Imams in Hamburg said Eid Al-Fitr is a happy occasion for Muslims to celebrate after God gave them the opportunity to fast during the holy month of Ramadan. They emphasized the importance of visiting relatives and friends during Eid, saying it would help them win the pleasure of God and His forgiveness.

Conclusion:

It saddens my heart to notice that the wonderful messages preached during this august occasions, are not been practiced. As a result of population growth, we might have two or maximum three mosque, but not five.

The money used in paying for such rents could be channeled into educational or health projects.

The Africa Muslims in Hamburg are not only divided into Groups and Mosques, some of the groups or Mosques even do not want to visit other mosques or pray with them.

I am therefore calling on the Imams and Sheiks to dialogue bring peace, love and unity into our disintegrating communities.
