AFRICAN UNIFICATION REMAINS AN ELIXIR TO DECOLONISATION

Contingent of Pan African delegations around the globe assembled themselves from the 8th till the 13th of December at the University of Ghana, Accra, to find solutions of the continent´s numerous problems. Two strong institutions, namely, Pan African Federal Movement (PAFM) and the Kwame Nkrumah Pan African Centre (KNAC) merged in consensus with an objective to bring Africans across the globe under a unified front as initiated 60 years ago by the first president of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

In his key note, the president of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo paid special tribute to past heroes who liberated the continent from imperial and colonial custody, namely, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Patrice Lumumba, Kenneth Kaunda, Julius Nyerere, Frantz Fanon, a Carriebean Revolutionist, Odinga -Odinga among others.  Nana Addo unquoted the powerful and unforgettable speech of Osagyefo Dr Nkrumah in reminiscence, “We again rededicate ourselves to the struggle to emancipate other countries in Africa because our independence is meaningless unless it is link up to the total liberation of the African continent” 

He elaborated further that, “Kwame Nkrumah became a symbol and the voice for the cause of African Independence and freedom, those famous words generated hope and excitement not only in Ghana but across the entire African continent …There was a renew optimism born on the fact that if Ghana has made it the rest of Africa could equally be free” Nana Akufo Addo disclosed.

The president urged Africans, both home and the Diaspora, to rededicate themselves to the very commitment that lead to the continent´s political emancipation from colonial hegemony. The process of re-dedication entails creating avenues for investment and quality education for the youth across the continent. Nana seized the opportunity and rendered a heartfelt appreciation to the Organizers specifically, Mrs Samia Nkrumah´s led KNAC and Pan African Federalist Movement, for the historical event bringing People of African descents across the globe, brainstorming for a common solution that could decolonize Africa from psychological, political and economic captivity.

It is an undeniable fact that no nation has suffered, dehumanized and plundered from her resources than the continent Africa.  After critical analysis, sons and daughters from the soil of Africa and abroad had come to a realization that only a united front and a scientific approach could draw us nearer to the solution of our uncountable problems. Africa must elevate herself forsolid socio-economic policies that would defeat the current fossil economy as well as the devastated political and military structures.

 Advising the participants on Security issues, General Mamadou Seck; a veteran military Officer from Senegal said that the unification of Africa is a must and posterity wont forgive the generation if they fail. Virtually, all the Guest Speakers were in conviction that a unified Africa is the key to sustainable economic growth, allowing a free flow of goods and human resources across the continent.

Other programs that culminated the six days event include podium discussions, workshops and seminars to improve the socio-economic relations among the proposed Federal States.

  CHANGING THE BATON TO THE YOUTH

It was amazing to watch the engagement of the African youth in their numbers in enthusiast and in an extreme interest, questioning the old compatriots after lectures in notification.

“Despite all challenges, in terms of organization and financial restraints, we were able to mobilize the youth across board to participate such a historic event” Mr Bernard Mornna, the secretary general of People conventional Party in Ghana and member of AAPC@60 committee said in a smile.

The newly elected Executive member of the Pan African Federalist Movement,(PAFM) –International Provisional Committee (IPC), responsible for the Youth, Miss Dikeledi Mokoena,  in her presentation stressed the dynamic need to combat against those problems confronting the African Youth.  “There should be a critical analysis and a scientific approach to handle those problems affecting our people around the globe” Mrs Dikeledi added.

The composite list she lectured via power point were as follows: Poverty and employment, education, health, climate change, Geo-political dimension, good governance, as well as systematic stigma in terms of  of gender and racism.

Other members elected to spearhead the realm of PAFM – IPC were, Mrs Kathy Dehlu Mhango Chairperson) Mr Joomay Faye (Deputy Chaiperson) Mr Aziz Fall (General Secretary) Nana Ama Amaanoo (Finance) Marcel Diki Kidiri (Strategy) Mr Adama Sammusseku (External Affairs) Mr Solomon Tampuri ( Legal Affairs)  Sister Hawa (Communication) and Brother Michael (Security)

GENERAL OVERVIEW AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

 The land mark of the  60th  All African People Congress scheduled this year  at the Bank of Ghana Auditorium, Legon Accra, has brought together, people of diverse background, including, Academics, Civil and Public Servants, Social and Political Activist as well as the Youth ACROSS BOUNDARIES to deliberate upon African uncountable problems and its remedy.

The AAPC@60 was not a mere event, rather, an occasion reflecting upon the current state of Africa, inspiring the generation to take the complete responsibility to liberate the continent.

“ We have to identify the enemy  in within and also women are missing in the proposed document, you don’t have a revolution without women” Mrs Clemence Michele a member from the American delegates purported.

A consensus was reached to reaffirm our unflinching commitment, pursuing the vision of redeeming Africa from her current states of affairs. For many years our struggle had been led by men and now the congress has chosen a dynamic woman of character, as a chairperson, marking an era of positive change.

Special thanks goes to the PAFM founding members especially General Mamadou Mansour Seck, Mr Joomay Faye, Seydou Toure among others, for their organisational genius that brought us so far in collaboration with Actvists of  Kwame Nkrumah Pan African Centre (KNPAC)  It has been an occasion, reflecting on the current state of Africa inspiring the generation to take their  responsibility for total liberation of their folks both political and economical.

Well, several conspicuous critics came across, for instance monetary constraints, geo-polarized conflicts, security and language barrier, etc, that serves as a stumbling block to the must unification. However, acknowledging the enemy within and outside ie. NEO COLONIAL Sentiments, Participants of AAPC@60 have rekindle their Pan-African spirit for a mission  to attain African political and Economic unification in within the generation.
